On the other hand the guys that are no good are the ones who usually come through in the end and become the supposed "Hero".
The cute guys are not always the heroes, such as Rick in Casablanca. He is not gorgeous but he is also not ugly. He has the qualities in which Americans in general consider hero material. So despite his unattractive appearance and regular ways he still models what a hero is.
