CESAR E.CHAVEZ Cesar Estrada Chavez was born March 31, 1927. He was born on a small farm near Yuma, Arizona. Cesar's father lost his land and farm during the depression when Cesar was ten years old. This started his life as a migrant farm worker. Cesar's family was very poor during that time. Throughout the next ten years his family migrated throughout the southwest, working in the fields. Because so many Americans honored the world wide boycott of grapes, head lettuce and Gallo Wine the growers were forced to honor farm workers pension plans and protection from dangerous pesticides. Cesar Chavez helped farm workers live a better like, but sadly he died on Friday April 23, 1993.
