In the short story Civil Peace by Chinua Achebe the theme that caught my attention after reading it several times, to me anyway, is about life and how nothing else in the world compares to it, not money, not anything. Also how every person no matter who you are has ups and downs. This is a story as old as time itself, and is definitely worth repeating. …showed last 75 words of 774 total…mething about mankind and that not everybody is selfish or out for themselves, although many people are. Some of the theme is also everything happens for a reason. Sometimes because of us being enraged or not liking the outcome of something we can not see it that way, but because of me reading this book it made me realize that everything kind of does happen for a reason. Sometimes certain things can not be avoided.
