Although there are different findings, it is clear that there is a correlation between substance use and crime but it is apparent that it is not a casual relationship. It is important to realize that young people are faced with many issues and they should be dealt with simultaneously. This means that programs need to be more individualized. This can be difficult to achieve because of a lack of resources and support from the community.
