got back to civilization, he went on adventures with Tom. Instead of facing his obstacles, he ran away from them. Even though Huck does this, it doesn't take away from the fact of how he was acting through out the entire novel. One experience doesn't necessarily change the way his character is. You can only grow up so fast, and Huck was just realizing that he still had most of his childhood ahead of him.
