As hearing people, we need to respect the Deaf culture and community. In order to do this, a hearing person needs to understand and promote cultural awareness through their community. This will provide a template for personal and social interaction through both the hearing and the Deaf communities. to more involvement in social and personal interactions between both cultures and communities. If the hearing were a little more educated of the Deaf culture, like other cultures taught in schools, then there would be more respect toward the Deaf community. The hearing person has to also be willing to accept these goals and understand them, by simply taking time and learning about them to discover ways to accept and invite them into their culture.
