Reading the works of Edgar Allen Poe and Harriet Beecher Stowe gave me two completely different feelings, because the works are completely different from each other. From their subject matter, to technique, and style, both writer's wrote with different purposes in mind.
Edgar Allen Poe's work gives off a sense of gloom and confusion. Not confusion in a total clueless way, but confusion in uncertainty and morbid suspense. Poe's style does

is why it was so influencial as to convince people that slavery was horrible wrong.
Both authors wrote very interesting work. Their work has raised countless discussions, and controversy. Their art has stood the test of time and will continue to be read by many people in the future. People will continue to be interested in Poe's beautifully, morbid work, and people will continue to show interest in Stowe's historically influencial book, Uncle Tom's Cabin.
