I have heard of the John Woolman house that has been preserved and memorialized. Unfortunately, I never knew anything about John Woolman until this year when I read one of his pamphlets against slavery. After reading this excerpt from his journal, I can see he is definitely an interesting man.

Woolman is quite the remarkable man. I enjoyed the honesty he wrote with in his journal. At times I thought he was a little eccentric, or absurd. But for those who carry strong beliefs it seems there is no other way to act. Especially those with religious beliefs like Woolman. Sometimes, I find this acceptable. For instance, if Woolman had not felt so strongly about his faith, maybe he would have never spoke against slavery.
