begin to sympathize with the character. In the end the thing that defines a Byronic hero the most is their moral standards. Because of the complexities involved in creating a Byronic hero, few authors can successfully create a character that fits all the criteria. Three characters that do fit all the criteria are, Macbeth, Grendel, and Heathcliff. Because of this honorable title of Byronic hero, these characters will be remembered forever as masterpieces of literature.
