makes them all the more remarkable. The fact that they are able to live their lives the way they do against the backdrop of war is amazing. If the characters in this novel had been put in any other time setting, I seriously doubt there could have been such a dramatic story of friendship. The author, Steve Kluger, put these people in difficult situations, and let us observe how they could miraculously triumph over them.
