Adam does is repeat a story and what he does.
This all makes Adam the most important character in the book because without his there would be no story. The mystery and the theme would all be gone. The characters around him would all be meaningless if Adam was not created. He is the main character and the main element of the book because without him it would be a senseless and dull story line.
