Iago and Macbeth are similar because they both have tragic flaws leading to their destruction. The flaws are common that anyone could possess, but for these two characters, it caused them to become absent minded and disregard any law or rule of mankind. Iago is naturally evil, but Macbeth must find within himself an evil with the help of the witches and Lady Macbeth.
