Through the two main characters of novel, Golding proved that an inherent evil nature exists within every human being. Although Ralph and Jack represented two entirely different views of governing, they both showed that self-restraining of the evilness is achievable. They also proved that the lack of restraining would lead to a disastrous destruction.
