In our day and age, we cannot live without money. People need money to purchase material items, food to survive, and even entertainment. One can argue that money is what makes this world go around. Although money can seem to make one happy, there are also very negative consequences when one develops a love for money, and the love for it can cause great damage. I agree with the quote in the First Epistle of

to acquire it in the United States. Wars have been fought between nations due to money issues. The war in the Persian Gulf in the early 1990s was fought mainly due to issues involving money and oil. So money is a basic cause of international conflict.
Money can definitely make one's life easier, we would not survive without money, but money can also cause great damage and grief when one acquires a love for it.
