The United States of America are considered a nation of immigrants, most of them having traditionally come from Europe.
Therefore, the Whites form the ethnic majority, but African Americans, Hispanics and Asian Americans all having their own way of life have influenced the American culture, which was primarily based on characteristic features of Western Europe for a long time.

War during 1965 and 1980 struggle to assimilate into American society without giving up their proper mentality.
However, having considered these aspects I think that America has always been able to cope with cultural and ethnic diversity.
