In these ways Chaucer has created a twisted triangle of pride in the men who love Alison. They are each proud for their own reasons and feel as though they deserve her love. However, their pride leads them to folly as it interferes with their good sense. Overall, Chaucer does a wonderful job ridiculing pride as the obstacle and sin in this tale.
