When I first read the title of this poem, I was thinking of a romance. I thought this poem would be about a couple finding A Common Ground during their relationship. Quite a few thoughts went through my mind, and I pictured my parents, my sister and her husband, my brother and his wife, my newlywed sister, and my brother who has recently had his heart broken. work that I am able to connect with in a personal way. When I read the lines written by this poet I can picture her looking at herself in a mirror with a little bit of surprise on her face, while she notices those similarities to her ancestry. A common ground can be found in a lot of places, I am grateful to this author for pointing out this type of common ground to me.
