In conclusion, in A Separate Peace there are many different examples which are significantly connected to the title. The boys and staff find peace away from the reality of war. They keep themselves distant and separated from the world around them. The title connects all of the characters attempts to separate themselves from the reality of World War II. John Knowles has done a wonderful job tying the text and title together perfectly.
