In the two stories "Pygmalion," by, Bernard Shaw and the myth,
"Pygmalion," by Ovid, there are similarities and differences which makes one
story reminiscent of another, and yet unique enough to set them apart from each
other. The element of metamorphasis is evident in both stories. Both of the
changes are considered to be for the better, and yet in order to fully

people's motives behind helping or changing others. Instead of taking things at
face value, the storie "Pygmalion," by, Bernard Shaw and the myth,
"Pygmalion," by Ovid, show us that we must look deep into peoples motives: is
what they are doing truly going to help the other person, or will they merely be
helping themselves?
