Abigail Williams vs. John Proctor After reading scenes one through three in act one, it became apparent to me that neither John Proctor nor Abigail Williams had any positive character traits. …showed last 75 words of 512 total… has done something wrong, it does not make it right. An obvious character trait of John Proctor is that deep down he is full of regrets. He severely regrets being unfaithful to his wife and getting together with Abigail. “Abby, you’ll put it out of mind. I’ll not be comin’ for you more” (23). John Proctor is reluctant to acknowledge his affair with Abigail because he is so mortified by the whole situation.
