The Life of Hemingway
Ernest Miller Hemingway was born on July 21, 1899 in Oak Park, Illinois. He went to public school in Oak Park. In high school he wrote for his school newspaper. In 1917 he graduated from high school and, instead of following what his parents expected he didn't go to college, but went to work for the Kansas City Star, a newspaper.

On October 8, 1954 Hemingway won the noble Prize for Literature, but with his injuries he couldn't go to Sweden so he wrote an acceptance letter, instead of giving a speech.
In 1960 the Hemingway's moved to Kechem, Idaho. Hemingway became depressive and had to go to Rochester, MN for shock therapy.
On July 2, 1961 Hemingway, after a year of fighting depression and paranoia, shot himself in the head with a shotgun, only two weeks before his 62nd birthday.
