THE LOST GENERATION
With the beginning of World War I many things had changed for America. This war happened between in the years of 1914 and 1918. At first America did not join the war but in 1917 they joined it to support it. When it was finished, soldiers who came back to their country from Europe, told stories of suffer and the badness of war. But there was something that made them affected. It was Paris, France.

directly from his experinces. It is like his caharcters are part of his life. I think Steinbeck is a really great critic. He sees society's problems and mistakes directly. Steinbeck uses naturilistic elements too. But he is not a naturalist. I think he is a great man who combines modernism, realism and naturalism. Both writers criticisize the society. I think for them Jazz Age causes the Great Depression. Materialistic and capitalistic ideals are society's mistakes.
