Birds, mountains, and bound feet gave a lot of meaning to this well-written novel. Each symbol was very meaningful and gave this book its true meaning. Maxine expressed each of her stories beautifully. And overall, I think it paints a good picture in your mind of what her family went through. I think this book really shows what a woman warrior is.
