Harper Lee was born in Monroeville, Alabama, on April 28, 1926. She is the youngest of three children of Amassa Coleman Lee(a lawyer) and Francis (Finch) Lee. Her education came from the Monroeville public schools. Following this, she went to Huntington College for a year, and then University of Alabama for five years to study law. There, from 1945 to 1950, she studied law, but did not get to complete her law

in 1965. Her last essay, was wrote in 1983, "High Romance and Adventure," which was about Alabama history and heritage festival. What I noticed, when I was reading her essays, was that they all had the same display of sympathetic style of her novel.
Today, Harper Lee is still alive, living in her hometown Monroeville, Alabama. She enjoys going to the theatre in New York and in England. She likes playing golf, traveling, and listening to music.
