I think there are many reasons Shakespeare has remained one of the most respected and revered playwrights (and not just b/c there HAS to be one). He was a talented man who wrote very well. What was the cause of this kind of focus given to such a man? Does this choice of hero reflect the social climate?* or is this just the norm for heroes in this era? but why this kind of hero?
